    Geometrical Properties of Conformal Field Theories Coupled to Two-Dimensional Quantum Gravity

    In this work we discuss an approach due to F. David to the geometry of world sheets of non-critical strings in quasiclassical approximation. The gravitational dressed conformal dimension is related to the scaling behavior of the two-point function with respect to a distance variable. We show how this approach reproduces the standard gravitational dressing in the next order of perturbation theory. With the same technique we calculate the intrinsic Hausdorff dimension of a world sheet.Comment: 10 pages, TeX, no figure

    Spin-based quantum computation in multielectron quantum dots

    In a quantum computer the hardware and software are intrinsically connected because the quantum Hamiltonian (or more precisely its time development) is the code that runs the computer. We demonstrate this subtle and crucial relationship by considering the example of electron-spin-based solid state quantum computer in semiconductor quantum dots. We show that multielectron quantum dots with one valence electron in the outermost shell do not behave simply as an effective single spin system unless special conditions are satisfied. Our work compellingly demonstrates that a delicate synergy between theory and experiment (between software and hardware) is essential for constructing a quantum computer.Comment: 5 2-column pages in RevTe

    Some properties on GG-evaluation and its applications to GG-martingale decomposition

    In this article, a sublinear expectation induced by GG-expectation is introduced, which is called GG-evaluation for convenience. As an application, we prove that any ξ∈LGβ(ΩT)\xi\in L^\beta_G(\Omega_T) with some β>1\beta>1 the decomposition theorem holds and any β>1\beta>1 integrable symmetric GG-martingale can be represented as an Ito^′s\hat{o}'s integral w.r.t GG-Brownian motion.
